When I was in college, I traded-in my almighty N64 video game system for an upgrade. After losing the console and about 5 games, I came back to my dorm room with a Sega Dreamcast. As pumped as I was to dive into the world of disc-based mayhem, the same day I came down with a horrible case of pink eye, and could not even see the screen of my television. Coincidence?
Years later, with blog posts to write and miniatures to convert, I find myself in a similar quandary. A recent medical "mishap" has left me with dilated pupils, and an inability to focus on anything closer to my head than six feet. This has made miniatures a fairly difficult hobby to pursue. In fact, I am typing this post without looking at the screen, as the bright white background of Blogspot is killing my focus. Thank god my girlfriend has offered to edit this post.
Anyway, nothing new to say today, other than being extraordinarily frustrated. My ears are just fine, so podcasts have been my only enjoyment of the 40k "lifestyle" for the past few days. I also have been unable to make any miniature progress.
Luckily, I should regain full use of my eye-holes in the next day or so. I have planned a game with Jorge Ruiz, a friend of mine and a winner of a ticket to this year's NOVA invitational. Maybe I will have the clarity to take photos of the assured tabling he will hand me. I hope you enjoy seeing a grown man cry. And with that, I will sob myself to sleep.
See you all this Friday with a photo-filled battle report!
